These photos illustrate the fun-times and artistic haywire community chaos that is Nuit Blanche, now in its third year in Toronto. I've heard estimates that up to 1,000,000 people attended this year's event.

Here are a few of those folks outside the Swan restaurant on Queen Street West - notice the newborn baby.

Omer often turns his lens toward local dancers, like these ones peforming on the street outside the Beerstore!

Last Sunday, Hope Garden and Greenest City threw a harvest celebration at the garden, located in Masaryk Park. This pictures are of lunch being served to about 200 community members. The vegetables came from the garden, how much more local can you get?

Many Hope Gardeners live in local high rise apartment buildings and have very little access to green space.

The Hope Garden is another initiative spearheaded by Parkdale's Greenest City. The garden is representative of the amazing diversity of the Parkdale community, and the gate is never locked! This sign is the only barrier between Hope gardeners and Hope gleaners. Amazing!

Parkdale Youth Green Squad

These pictures were taken in Parkdale. They are of the Youth Green Squad - a group of youth hired by Greenest City, a non-profit community organization in Parkdale. These youth work for Greenest City during their summer vacation from Parkdale Collegiate. Their job is to reclaim the local Dunn Parkette and plant, take care of and harvest their own organic garden. All of the vegetables are then donated to local food banks.
